Hi all,

In our SAP R3 ECC6 System with oracle 10g and OS is UNIX System, we are in planning to increase the paging size(PG_MAXFS) to 3times of existing one.

I just want to know that this parameter allocate the space on which file system in Unix to ensure there is enough space.

Kindly help me in this regardu2019s

Do you mean rdisp/PG_MAXFS ( Maximum size of SAP paging file) ? That is stored under

/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGSxx/data

Check [SAP Note 133909 - Maximum value for PG_MAXFS, PG_SHM, ROLL_MAXFS, ROLL_SHM|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=790099]

you must simply make sure that there is sufficient space for the paging file in the data directory of the application server

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Naveed

Hi Peter,

Is there any specific reason behind incresing the paging ??

How much is your current pagging ??

Thanks

Hello Peter,

PG_MAXFS is a memory parameter. So i am confused if file system space allocation will come into picture.

Can you check SAPnote # 133909 which clarifies all aspect of this parameter.

Best Regards
