All-
Does anyone know how often the service user defined in the UME Config for connection to an LDAP actually binds to the LDAP? My LDAP admin is showing 300-500 binds a day (and at odd times). Is this normal behavior or is it an indication of something failing on the LDAP side which is causing the UME to frequently reconnect?
Related: is this service user in the UME only used for search, create, delete operations or does it also bind to the LDAP when a user attempts to authenticate into the UME against the LDAP (i.e. with Enterprise Portal)?
Thanks much!!
Matt
The UME has to connect every time a user authenticates. When a user logs in, the UME searches all known data sources. Hopefully it only finds one. So, even if a user who is only in the Java database logs in, the UME searches for the user in the LDAP, too.
