Warnings after repeating incomplete archiving sessions (TA Sara)

Former Member

Hello,

for testing purposes i archived a object serveral times, but i did not delete it.

Now, every time i press the button "write" i get a warning:

"There are still incomplete archiving sessions.

As long as there are incomplete archiving sessions,

that data is archived more than once as not all archi

processed by the relavant delete program.

You should take this into account before you proceed."

Any idea how to get rid of this message?

Thanks and best regards

Andre

Hello,

When your archiving session is obsolete and you want to continue from scratch I recommend to flag your current session as : "Invalid Session".

I also recommend that you delete all batch jobs related to your archiving object (via the Job button or Shift+F4) : ARV*

This will allow you to rerun your archiving session.

I hope this helps.

Wim

Hello,

You can do this via the Archiving Session Management :

You can also use an ABAP program to mark archiving sessions as invalid (mass processing) : RSARCH_FLAG_SESSIONS

Success !

Hello Wim,

i tried the Archiving Session Management over the management button, but there isn't a single archive/session shown. Do i have to activate something first (before the archive job runs)?

Thanks and Regards

Andre,

try with this [link to the latest SAP documentation|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/8d/3e5021462a11d189000000e8323d3a/frameset.htm].

I think it is essential that you acquaint yourself with SARA and it's surroundings and settings first, before you proceed - otherwise you might really do some damage without intending it ...
