MMC for Portal - Status of jcontrol.EXE - information not available

Former Member

Hi All

I am having an issues with our Portal MMC, in the status of the jcontrol.EXE we are getting the message "information not available". The portal actually starts up ok and can be used, however I am concerned that there are other issues which have not yet been reported.

I have looked through the defaultTrace.0.trc and cannot see anything obvious that points to an issue.

Does anyone have any ideas?

We are have Netweaver Portal 7 SP18

Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil,

Is the status in jcmon displayed correctly? Can you also check http://hostname:5<instance number>113

Kind regards,

Unfortunatelly the http://hostname:5113/ does not display anything.

The jcmon seems fine:

I think you should use: http://hostname:50413

Can you please check?

That now appears but does not display anything.

You have to add the instance manually to the console.

So you are choosing "add new instance", enter the instance number and hostname. for the message server, you have only to select protocol http.

Actually, I only added the instance number and host which brought up the details with no jcontrol.EXE. However when I try to set this up using the message server and port (which are correct!) it brings nothing back (no system displayed), it will not let me ping it either.

So this looks like a message server problem? Also I should have mentioned we do have 2 Portals running on this server. One works and the MMC is fine and the other does not!

That is weird indeed.. Do you get any erros in dev_disp or dev_ms when trying to connect?

Hi,

I believe your message server port is wronng, plz check again. One more thing try to add again through MMC starting from SCS and save the MMC in other location. Check your host file as well.

C
