Making GL Account field editable during Approval Process

Hi Experts,

We are in SRM 7.0 and using process controlled workflow.

As a business requirent,we want the GL account field to be editable during the approval process i.e during approval process,approve wants to change the GL account in the shopping cart as the GL account may not be correctly entered.

Is it possible to make the GL account field editable during approval process?if Yes,please share how it can be done.

Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Hello,

As mentioned by Masa, you can use "Approval with completion", this will allow approvers to edit the shopping cart.

Note 1277921 - Allow/Disallow to edit fields for approver/reviewer will also help you.

The approval process of the process-controlled workflow in SRM 7.0 was designed in the following way: During completion phase approver and requester may change the document without restrictions. Any change must be done by the approver or be approved by him. During approval phase approver and requester may not do any relevant changes to the document as it might result in a re-evaluation of the document and a change of the workflow process. A reviewer may never modify the document.

With this note, the process-controlled workflow allows selected fields to be editable and selected actions to be executable in approval phase. it also allows to disable fields and actions in completion phase easily. This is configurable. This new feature is an extension of the meta data framework of SRM 7.0.

Hi Ashutosh,

Thank you for your response,we have to add field "GL/account" and "account assignment category" in the Extension & Field Control (Personalization) in Configure Control for Fields on Item Level which is not available.Can you please let us know how we can add these fields.

Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

Please check you have set "Approval with Completion" for Level Type in Process Level configuration.

Thank you for your response.

In SRM 7.0 for Process controlled workflow,for Level Type in Process Level configuration we have 3 different options

1) Approval with Completion

2) Approval

3) Automatic(System User)

Can you plz explain what is the difference between these 3 diffrent potion for Level Type in Process Level configuration.

Level Type: There are 3 possible entries. Approval with completion, Approval and Automatic. Within

a completion step the document can be changed by the approver if the u2018Changeableu2019 flag is set.

Within the approval phase, the document can only be approved or rejected but not changed. It is not

possible to mix the two phases of completion and approval. The completion phase is always before

the approval phase. The automatic step is a final means of validating the approval process, and to

verify that at least one step was returned without any error (example: event 0EV999). Depending on

the task ID assigned to the automatic step, the document will then be either approved or rejected.
