Hello,
I would like to ask whether someone has experiences with installing SAP TestDrive on Slackware linux 10.x. As I read officially only Suse and Fedora(Redhat) are supported but I would like to install it on Slack. Thanks for any advise.
Regards,
Pavol
Pavol,
generally it should work, I even read about people getting SAP on Free BSD to run.
It might be necessary that you unpack the rpms and modify some stuff.
If you manage to run slackware, then this should not proove to be too difficult for you...
A good source of info is http://sap.com/linux
Regards
Matthias

First of all:
I tried (all 64Bit) :
open SuSE10.2 and 10.2 - both worked.
Fedora (latest) - didnt work
Debian 3.0 and 4.0 - both worked.
ubuntu >7.04 - all worked
Actually Im running the server under ubuntu x64, and have a second machine with Windows2000 (because I'd miss the graphical screen painter ).
After all, I can say the server works on many distributions.
But always, I had to configure the eth0:0 manually.
But if you use slackware, you should be used to use ifconfig....

I tried to install the TestDrive on Slackware 11.0 and I have a problem to the end of the install, explicty when the installer try to configure the 'network services', this 'stuff' look for the eth0-config script and the /etc/sys/network directory, (these exists in Red Had, Fedora and Suse).
did you find the way?
