Material specification and Inspection chars

Hello,

What is the difference between the Material specification and Inspection chars .

Can any explain me,the step by step procedure to set and complete the inspection lot using material specification .

Can you please give me the step by step settings and procedure for specification. I am trying to create the Inspection lot using specification

1.Create MIC using QS21

2.Create material specs in QS61 & use MIC in material specs.

3. Activate material specs in QM view along with check char & auto assignment.(do not active inspec with task list)

4.Now create inspection lot & check the status as REL.

Now do RR & take the UD

Actauly comparison should be material specs & inspection plan.

Now Inspction char simply tells "what to inspect" ,it may be a MIC or simply inspect char either Qualitative or Quantitative.

Inspection char(MIC) is used in inspection ,material specs or in Certificate.

Now come to Material specs,it is alternative to Inspection plan.Unlike inspection plan only MIC can b used in the material specs.No DMR or inspection points etc can be used.At the same time major difference betwwen a inspectio plan & material specs is ,IP is created at plant level whereas MS is not plant specific.That means once created can be used for all plants.
