Existing BOMs with Date Effectivity - going to parameter effectivity

Does anyone have any experience with how best to move to using parameter effectivity when already using Date effectivity? BOM explosion with the new parameter effectivity doesn't filter out the date. Is there a good way to handle this such as doing a conversion?

I am not sure if I have understood your problem but it's not possible to change the Effectivity Type once the change number is created.

Thanks for the response. I'll try to be more clear. We have used date effectivity on all our BOMs for years. We now want to switch to using a customer specific effectivity. Is there a good method to switch to the new effectivity on all the existing BOMs. I'm wondering what the best way is to switch all BOMs to use the new effectivity. The only thing comes to mind is writing a utility that would take out new change numbers for each and every BOM with the new effectity.
