Hi,
is there any report or blog/doc on sap/sdn that can specifiy somehting like..
Maximum xxx no. of messages of asynch(or synch) of size yyyKB can be exchanged in time nnn milliseconds on PI server with configuration of nn GB RAM.. etc
basically we would like this kind of information to check whether PI will be suitable for requirement of a specific integration.
thanks,
Madhu.
Hi Madhu,
I dont think any document availble ,but there are some documets in sdn like comparing throughput for different messages.
check performace tunig guided yoy many find desired info.
share your requirement,i hope we may try .

We are part of a migration project, currently our customer is using tibco as the middleware, and would like to migrate to SAP PI 7.1
in current integration, there are around 100 files of 2300 Kb gets exchanged every 30 minutes using tibco.
for these kind of usecases, the customer would like to see some performance reports so that he can be sure of using PI will indeed work for him.

just guessing, are there PI success stories published by sap, may be this could contain such information.

Hi Madhu,
There's no report like this, but there s a tool of SAP called "quicksizer", that is made for sizing of new PI machines and a lot of other possible Netweaver installations.
In case of PI you can feed quicksizer with the data you have provided about the scenario and it ll get you a "by rule of thumb" result about hardware requirements like memory, cpu and database space necessary.
Its also possible to estimate the impact of several scenarios running in parallel at specific times of the day (lookup help sections of the quicksizer tool).
From my experience the tool comes pretty close to reality in its suggestions.
Anyway i guess you ll receiver more hardware "hungry" results then with TIBCO till SAP stays with the double stack model )
you can find the quicksizer here:

With best regards
Sebastian
