Hi,
We would like to do a homogeneous system copy for our SCM 4.1 PROD system to a new server.
This target system will also served as PROD when golive.
Does anyone have the homogeneous system copy guide for SCM 4.1 ABAP (Windows 2003- MS SQL 2005)?
For this scenario, my thinking is at the target system we use a different Hostname & IP address for the target system. SID and instance number will be remain same. Is it good idea to have same SID and instance number? I think this will only affect the logon group?
So those RFC, external interface and sapgui, we will request the users to change the PROD ip address or hostname when golive.
Is this the good approach? or we had to change hostname at the target system to point to the old ip address and hostname during go live switch over steps.
If anyone have the same experience, kindly if you don;t mind to shared with me.
Thanks very much,
Regards,
CK Chai
