Case-sensative <sid>adm account password SQL2008

We are doing a new installation of an IDES system. SQL2008 on MSServer2008 SP1 64bit. We are running into an issue with the account name being case-sensative on the <SID>adm account and not allowing access to the database during the installation. If SAPinst is creating the account, should it not have the correct format or does this have to be manually set some way?

Install is being done using a Domain Admin account.

Thanks

Went back to an earlier snapshot. Deleted anything to do with DB and started all over. Ran fine. Must have been a glitch.

Hello,

as the SQL Server is installed with an case sensitive collation (SQL_Latin1_CP850_BIN2) (nearly) everything is case sensitive in the installation, as well as the login names. Passwords are always case sensitive.

We have seen issues with that, when the account was created in mixed case letters in the domain. Check with your domain admin if the account of the <sid>adm was created in all lowercase letters in the domain. When you corrected the domain, drop the login from the SQL Server (ensure that you have another working login to work with, otherwise your installation will be no longer usable) and recreated it.

Best regards
