Portals Implementation on iSeries

Planning a Portals/ESS implementation. What is currently supported on iSeries. What is NOT?

TREX will have to run on Windows or AIX?

I am trying not to learn and support other database platforms.

What customers are doing portals on iSeries?

Who is doing employee self service?

ADS is not supported on iSeries, which is a big issue for ESS. In this case you have to run ADS on a supported platform as a separate instance.

TREX 7.10 can only run on Linux or Windows, but more choices are available for TREX 7.00, such as Linux/Windows/AIX/HP-UX/Solaris, unfortunately iSeries is not one of them.

Besides, IBM classic and IT4J, two different JDKs are supported on iSeries for release 640/700. IT4J has better performance for sure.

What about the ADOBE Flex server on iSeries? Isn't the flex server required for Employee Self Service?

Adobe Flex is not part of SAP AS Java, you could use programming interface to integrate it with BSP.
