Building "in house".

Scenario:

We are a manufacturing company, who often manufacture goods for use "in house".

Once the order is entered, and manufacture is complete, the finished part is booked into stock.

If its then "PGI", it removes the stock, which is not what is required as the finished item is held in stock, and the costings will be inaccurate.

If the order is left live, and the finished item is moved to an alternative stock location set up for this purpose, then automatic (unwanted) purchase orders are placed overnight to enable manufacture of an item SAP believes is no longer built.

How are you able to leave an item in stock but close the order?

It seems that the problem is stemming from the fact that the item is being built against a sales order, even though this is not a sales transaction.

Set up a production order (no sales order) to handle the building of the item. Once it has been built and placed in stock, do a goods issue to remove it from stock.

Hi,

You can create a new Rejection Reason for this purpose with a meaningful name and assign it to those sales orders. In that case system will no longer determine those sales orders as demand in the system.

Best regards,
