Dummy Data for MDM Repository

Hello all,

I just had a look at the SAP employee repository, which comes with the business content of SAP MDM. Now I wonder, whether there is any "official" dummy data available, which I can import in the repository?

Andreas,

There is no "official" dummy data available for the standard repositories. You can use the standard "MDM Extraction programs" available in R/3 (I am not sure whether there is any available for "Employee")and use those files with Import Manager to import data (All standard repositories come with Import maps which can be used with the files generated using Extraction program).

If am not wrong dummy data can be generated from the SAP R/3 also, where Employee IDOC xml needs to be created and samething can be imported.

I usually take data from other "dummy" databases, such as NorthWind on MS SQL Server.... this way, I get to practice import and mapping as well 😃
