Hi all,
It looks like SAP has released new agents (version 7.1) for solution manager diagnostics . Is this compatible with lower versions of netweaver? 7.0 and 6.40 as this needs to be installed on the managed systems that in our landscape are at different versions.
What is the SAP hostagent? and is this also downward compatible with lower releases of netweaver. Does this also need to be installed on the managed systems for diagnostics?
Thanks and Best Regards, Neeta
Dear Neeta
Mark has kindly provided the information in the matrix on page 5. The important point here is that before starting the installation you need to identify the Diagnostics Agent version that complies with the version of the Solution Manager system. And you have been provided the information on how to make this determination.
Regards,
Paul

Dear Neeta,
The diagnostic agent version used depends on both the version of Solution Manager and the Managed System.
Please refer to https://websmp202.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000952852009E and on page 5 you will see the matrix.
If this link doesn't work, you will got to http://service.sap.com/diagnostics
Then click on Diagnostics Setup Guide. Refer to page 5.
This answers your question. I hope you find the information helpful.
Regards,
Paul
