Hello,
I would like know if there is dependences between ABAP and JAVA.
I have one instance double-stack (ABAP+JAVA) and I want to update SP17 to 21 only in ABAP
and wait several days or one or two weeks before update stack java to SP21
Can I do it?
Regards,
Hi Oscar,
Apply at the same time to reduce the inconsistency between ABAP and JAVA.
Hope it helps

Any functions which do not have dependancies in both systems will be unaffected by patching each system independantly
- however any operations that do have dependancies in both ABAP and JAVA could be affected by independantly patching
the technology stack in each system
Best wishes

Hi my friend
In earlier stacks of 640/700 release, sync SPS is strictly applied to dual stack instance. But as of 700 SR2, it's not that strict any more but for your own good and not running into any known issues of inconsistent stack level, sync SPS between ABAP and Java is still strongly recommended, especially for PI and MI type instance.
