Posting period Variant..

Dear All,

For my client ealier they used one Posting period variant for all company code, based on their request we created posting period variants for each company codes because respective company heads wants to close their periods. Now my Question is they want system to close all the posting periods for the rest of the comapnies when they close the posting period of holding company.

and at the same the time the heads from the respective companies should not have the access to open the closed periods.

Please provide me the solution....

Hi,

There is no 'standard' way to solve this out, since there is no such an entity in SAP as 'holding company'. You can develop a program which closes the open periods based on the Z-table which contains relationship between the companies. As for the access to open/close a period again, it could be figured out with security algorythm. Bottom line, that's a job for your BASIS/ABAP team.
