Hi All,

We are in a process CUUC preparation phase. we have some doubts on below points.

On the initial screen of SPUM4 it ask to replace code page 1100 with 1160.

1) After performing this activity, some of languages with code page 1100 are changed to 1160 in the SPUM4 language list. But below list of languages are still shows 1100 code page. Do we need to change their code page to 1160 manually in the language list ?

DA 1100

NO 1100

PT 1100

FI 1100

SV 1100

2) We have some langauages which are having code page 1401 and 1500 Do we need to set some perticular code page for above languages ?

Czech CS 1401

Hungarian HU 1401

Polish PL 1401

Slovakian SK 1401

Ukrainian UK 1500

Russian RU 1500

Thanks and Regards

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

1) Optionally it is possible to replace code page 1100 with 1160 in the language list (see UCG). In older versions of R/3 (Releases <= 4.6B), it is / was possible to insert non-supported characters like e.g. the u20AC-sign. In order to convert these characters correctly, code page 1160 can be used in the language list. Please note that you might get more words in the vocabulary due to the switch from 1100 to 1160.

SAP Note 552612 lists the characters which are included in 1160 (Microsoft-1252), but not in 1100 (ISO-8859-1).

Therefore if you want to keep these (non-supported) characters, then you have to change the language list accordingly.

I do not know of any significant disadvantages of doing so ...

The list provided by you are probably inactive languages (??) - I do not see the need to change the settings here (but it is possible).

2) For other code pages like 1401 or 1500 there is no such option - you need to keep them like they are.

Best regards,
