Solution manager SMD is not showing all the tabs

Hi Gurus,

if i log into solution manager http://hostname:50000/smd it is not showing all the tabs I am using j2ee_admin user for logging.

it is showing only DIAGNOSTICS SETUP tab only. We have solution manager ehp1 on windows 2003

Dear Rakesk,

As David said you should access via the Solman_workcenter transaction.

You would want to make sure you have assigned the appropriate roles to the users.

SOme of the roles you can assign are SAP_SMWORK_BMP (Business Process Monitoring), SAP_SMWORK_CHANGE_MAN (Change Management), SAP_SMWORK_DIAG (SMD), SAP_SMWORK_INCIDENT_MAN (Incident_management), etc.

You can get the required roles from the SAP Solution Manager Security Guide.

After adding the roles i am able to see these tabs only .

Change Management, Root Cause Analysis, Incident Management.

1) after adding these roles also i am not able to see the all the tabs in http:hostname:50000/SMD.

Can I use this url to url to login and configuration of SMD for non ABAP systems.

2) To see the additional tabs in wat are the additional roles i need to add.

(Diagnostic Administration, Diagnostic setup).

Okay, apply these roles:

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC

SAP_SMWORK_DIAG

(to make sure you can add all roles starting with SAP_SMWORK)

Next, forget that url.... host:port/smd, don't use it!

Start transaction solman_workcenter

You'll find that one of the tabs is the Root Cause Analysis tab.

As for the configuration part......

All is done using transaction solman_setup.

As I said, forget the URL.

After adding the roles you use the workcenters.

The actual diagnosing will take place in the RCA workcenter.

Configuring takes place in transaction SOLMAN_SETUP

The tabs you're looking for don't exist anymore.

HI Rakesh,

For configuration use Transaction solman_setup .

Also you may need to user solman_admin only for all configuration.

Hope you have already done with initial and basis configuration.

Access the /SMD using solman_admin user.

You should access the SMD using the RCA workcenter.

Assign the proper roles to your user to access this workcenter.
