Order Type Publication in APO for SNP only implementation

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We have only SNP implementation in place. But the production orders CIFed in APO from ECC appear with PPDS type (APO application 2 - in product view). How to influence this publication. And what would be the order type in APO for ECC orders - if you are using only SNP and not PPDS?

Thanks and regards,

Sushant

Dear Sushant,

On the initial screen of transaction CFM2, there is an indicator "Create Planned orders as SNP Planned Orders". Please read the F1 help also.

BR,

Tiemin

If you set this indicator, SAP APO creates SNP planned orders during the initial supply of planned orders from the ERP system, assuming that the following prerequisites are met:

You are using SAP APO 4.0 or higher.

The planned order is contained in an active integration model for planned orders.

The planned order does not already exist in SAP APO.

The MRP procedure X (without MRP, with BOM explosion) is assigned to the header material of the planned order in the ERP system.

The availability date/time of the header material lies outside the SNP production horizon. The SNP production horizon is the period of time during which Supply Network Planning (SNP) does not plan production, in other words, does not create any SNP planned orders. SNP shifts production to the first day after this horizon.

The planned order is neither a planned order of type VP (forecast) nor a planned order for project stock or sales order stock.

An SNP production horizon or an SNP production horizon enhancement greater than zero has been maintained in SAP APO in the product master (transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1) on the SNP 2 tab page.

Orders that exist already in SAP APO are not converted to a different type if you set this indicator.

If you do not set this indicator, the planned orders transferred from the ERP system are always created in SAP APO as PP/DS planned orders.

For more information about controlling planned order integration, see the SAP APO Implementation Guide for Supply Network Planning (SNP) under Basic Settings -> Maintain Global SNP Settings.

Hi Sushant,

The publication will be based on the category and category group that

is defined in customisation.

These values are stored in table /SAPAPO/ATP03. In this field name

ATPCATTYP denotes the order type

Hi Sushant,

All the execution orders and manually created orders would be having the application component of PPDS only. This is because of the reason as no changes to them is expected by the heuristics anyways. Also the orders pushed from ECC would be of the allication component type PPDS.

SNP and PPDS is a concept in APO only and any order pushed from ECC is considered to be firmed by APO and hence application component is PPDS by default.

More Imp, I would like to understand what issue does this cause in your business scenario as these type of orders are any ways not to be changed in APO SNP.

I would say that whether you implement PPDS or not, is not related to such issue.

Let me know if it helps.
