Issues with EHP1 upgrade on our SOLMAN system

Hi,

We had two issues with EHP1 upgrade on our SOLMAN system.

1) We tried to update SPAM to Version 7.01/38 but after successful run the version was not updated and was still showing as 7.00/38. After that we did Kernel update to version 55 of EHP1 SP22 ( should we do only upgrade to kernel 23 for SP19 instead as for first we only are trying to update from SP17 to SP19 of EHP1 and then afterwards we will upgrade to other higher levels) .We are not sure about SPAM version as to why its not reflecting change as when we checked in imported packages it showed successfully imported in the system.

2) Second issue we faced after point 1 above:-

Our Solman system is on SP17 level and we have downloaded packages for SP19 from Maintainence optimizer. We SAPCAR the packages and placed them in our system's Trans directory. After that we loaded the packages via SAINT (used load packages from aplliaction server) and we clicked on Start -> Chose Stack Configuration. A dialog box opened providing list of availble configurations but it showed only radio button for the higher one and no SP level associated with it 9 for eg it should have shown as SP19 or some other SP level atelat but it was blank). We continued with the step and on confirming the selection we got error like "The Installation/Upgrade Package for Add-on BI_CONT rel. 704 is not available" . Now here we thought will it ok to first downgrade the kernel from 7.01/55 level to 7.00/239 (prev level) and then apply pre-reuisite BI-CONT packages as per notes 1254946 and 1172899

Kindly aslo check the attached screenshot document(Solman EHP1 SP19

errors.doc) and help us in this

regard.

It is showing correct as you are not 7.01 yet. Once you will be on EHP1 then it will how you version of 7.01.

Also, don't upgrade kernel to 701 level until you are not starting upgrade of solman to EHP1. As far as BI_CONT is concerned what is your current level of BI_CONT ?

Thanks

Hi Thanks for the answer...

Our Bi cont version in system currently is :

BI_CONT 703 0008 SAPKIBIIP8

Do we need to downgrade kernel to 700 level apply any delta BI_CONT..( we check edone SAP note.. 1172899..) and the upgrade kernel to 701 ( to whic level SP19 version 23 one now or directly to SP 22 version 55 one?) SP19 level of EHp1 and the load all packages via SAINT and then trigger start.

Your help on this will be apprecited..

Thanks &Regards,

Hi,

First downgrade your kernel. Then update BI_CONT and once you will start EHP1 upgrade. Then upgrade your kernel to 701 level.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

We have tried to downgrade the kernel of our SOLMAN from 701 release level to 700 level as suggested and imported one

BI_CONT 703 0009 SAPKIBIIP9 Business Intelligence Content.....

after which we intended to import addon the BI_CONT 703 delta upgrade package SAPKIBIIIC but its not detecting in queue...

please suggest how we may rectify this situation or do we need to import all SP levels for 703 till SP16 as availble on SMP for BI_CONT... as after that 704 release starts which is the one i have mentioned originally that pops up as missing package.

Hi All,

Thanks to all for their suggesstions.

Our issue is resolved and upgrade has started successfully. We just unzipped all SP level files from 19 to 22 in EPS/ in

folder and triggered import via SAINT and all is fine now. Ya before that SPAM and Kernel do need to be updated!! first.
