HiN Experts ,

Where should the program id should be registered . (MON_APP).

Just by testing the RFC connection we can say its registered or we have to look at some where else.

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

Program ID is for just identifying, suppose we are calling the RFC from C or C++ or Java....... then by using this ID only RFC called.

It is the free text we can give any name but the ID should be same in both RFC destination and RFC adapter in XI/PI.

Hi Kiran,

Did you check /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step and http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3865. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] I guess it explains all about your doubt.

Hi Kiran ,

The Program ID is unique a name with which the listener registers itself with the R/3 gateway.

Just by testing the RFC connection we can say its registered or we have to look at
some where else

1. You have to create RFC Destination in R/3 with Some Program ID

2. Create a sender RFC CC in XI and provide the same Program ID which you created .

You have to fill other details like application server (gateway) ,you can use ip address

of sap system here. these details you can get from the Tcode SMGW in sap.

3. Activate all the Objects i.e RFC destination and then the RFC sender Channel before

doing the test connection.Remote logon test for the RFC destination may not work unless

u activate the RFC sender comm. channel. When the activation is done the XI registers the

program id with RFC gateway so that it can communicate with the R/3 system takes place
