Hi Guys,
When we retire an asset either its with revenue or without revenue. The system deactives the asset and then for the current year depreciation it shows the planned deprecation amounts for the remaining periods till end of the year.when we run the depreciation at the month end , the depreciaiton for that retired asset will also be included in the depreciation run.we are using ECC6.0 version, and half year depreciaiton method. The user say in their legacy system when they retire the asset, the deprecation for the remaining periods goes to zero at once in the same period when they retire the asset, but thats not the case in sap.how can we achieve this scenario that when we retire the asset, the remaining dep for the current year also gets down to zero in the same period or in the same day?? Thanks
Regards
Shaun
Hi,
I believe it is determined by the Asset valued date entered in the retirement transaction. If the asset value date is a future date, depreciation will be planned to the period corresponding to that date. If the asset value date is the same as the posting date, there will be no more planned depreciation left.

Ming
