E-Recruitment on ERP/HCM 6.0 non-Unicode system

We are looking at implementing E-Recruitment on a central ERP/HCM 6.0 system that was upgraded with a single code page. This system was not converted to unicode as we only use one code page. No plans to migrate at this time.

The question is: Is there any issue with installing E-Recruitment add-on to this system. We have been having some discussions with consultants and SAP with no clear answer. There does not seem to be a clear reason why e-Recruitment will not work on the ERP 6.0 single code page system.

Does anyone know of a reason why this would not work?

Hi Thomas,

We have e-recruitment installed on our ERP system and we are non-unicode. No issues yet, as we are still in the development phase. We are on EhP4, with the most recent stack support (SAPK-60406INERECRUIT). We are also implementing the SAP Portal.

Thank you for the reply. The project has been put on hold due to budget restraints but will probably resume soon. The question originally came up because we were getting mixed signals from SAP as to if e-Recruitment required unicode or not. From the research I did the statesment about unicode did not add up.

The core ERP/HCM system will probably remain on one code page until the next upgrade cycle. We also were looking to put e-Recruitment on its on instance. In that case the new instance would be unicode to start with.

It is good to see that if we went with the central single code page ERP system e-Recruitment would work,

Hi Thomas,

Once you finalize your landscape, be sure to check out note 1017866. In our case, with an integrated scenario, we also needed to include an external-facing UI server for external candidates.
