Promotion of modified LO Datasources to production.

We had noticed that the field shipping condition in the Delivery Note Lineitems ODS was not being populated since 23/Feb/2010.

On further analysis we realized that there were some changes made, as a result of which, the mapping for this field in the transfer rules were no longer present. This field alsp does not appear in the extract structure for the dataource in BW. In R3, though present, this field does not appear to be active in the structure for the extractor ( for datasource 2LIS_12_VCITM- direct delta) in LBWE.Though the datasource appears green - trying to reactivate throws the following error:

Units field WAERK for field OITAXLOD of DataSource 2LIS_12_VCITM is hidden

We plan to remove these fields from the extract structure( since we dont need them) and reactivating the datasource in R3, replicating and mapping the VSBED (shipping condition) field.

When promoting these changes to production:

In R3 - we would need to promote the active datasource with the fields WAERK,NETPR,OIFEETOT,OITAXISS and OITAXLOD removed, when users are locked out of the system.

In BW we would transport the datasource and transfer rules. All ongoing loads would now have the shipping condition field filled. For historic loads since 23/Feb/2010 we would need to do a full repair - after having deleted and filled the setup tables with documents created since 23/Feb/2010 till date.

Please advise whether our approach is correct.

this might work if indeed you have direct delta setup for this datasource

should you have queued delta, the process is a bit more complex

Hello experts

We were able to move the corrected datasources to quality. However we are having some problems idenitfying the range of delivery document numnbers to load into BW.

Since we needed to reload the data from 23/Feb/2010 onwards - and the fact that the OLI8BW ( SBIW - setup for Le deliveries ) only contains the following selection optinos:

Archiving session

Sales Organization to

Company code to

SD document to

we thought we could identify in R3 all document numbers having a start date / changed on date >= 23/Feb/2010.

Is this the right approach - would trying to identify all the document numbers with the created on / changed on date be enough?

Also, since these numbers may not be in a sequence - would there be a more convenient way of performing the filling up of the setup tables ?

Please advise.
