Hi Experts,
is it possible to disable certain web items that are related to certain InfoProviders/Queries within one single web template in order to have different views on a template with regard to the user role?
The current solution in our system is having several web templates which just include the relevant web items published to the related role. If we just restrict a query and try to run the web template with a user/role that is not authorized to view the query, the web template dumps...
Many thanks in advance!
Best regards
Tobias
Hi.
I assume you want to hide some items depending on user auth.
Am I right ?
I don't think we can control it, but there is [Web Design API |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/9f5e1acf9e3c5ce10000000a421937/frameset.htm]and you can try to implement it somehow.
I don't think anyone did it ...
Regards.

Hi,
There are not authorizations features available on web templates. This function can only be controlled in authorizations and roles in BI. It totally depends on user authorizations. We cannot control in webtemplates.
What we have done is we have created a role and published the WAD to the role and assigned to the user. We only have control on how the data to be displayed on the template but not who is authorized or not.
Regarding the short dump, Just open the web template and try to save and activate. Usually we get the msg saying that "User is not authorized"
Thanks

Hi Tobias,
If a user isn't authorized to view a query, an authorization err msg (e.g. 'User not authorized') would be displayed on web template execution. I'm not sure why it dumps instead. Have you checked SU53 output to see if any authorization error? What does the dump say?
