PO deletion

Can anyone tell me if i cancel a PO by deleting line item, if GR and IV is done,what will hapeen with its material doc. and invoice doc.??

Hi,

A PO line item cannot be deleted if follow on document exists. The line items can only be set as deletion indicator. If full GR and IV has been done for a PO, the PO gets the deletion indicator after certain period of time.

Even if you manually set the line item as deleted, there will be no impact on any of the follow on document. But if you try to reverse after seting it as deleted, it may restrict you to do so.

only way to delete a PO from system is to archive it.

Nothing will happen to the material and invoice documents. They will remain as it is.

The system will allow you to delete the PO, and if your GR, IR are not reversed nothing will happen to them.

System allows you to delete the said PO if in case you want to archive them.

If you try to delete line item and gr and ir has been done, even system will not allow you to delete line item it will generate a error message Quantity delivered differs from qty. invoiced (Function not possible) and po line item treated as fualty items and also system will not allow you to SAVE PO. You can delete po in this situation. its better to delete all follow on documents GR & IR and than Delete line item of PO.
