DQM for SAP question

Hi All,

Can the DQM (Data Quality Manager) for SAP just be used for cleansing/matching Vendor Name/Address data in real-time when the data is being entered in ECC or can it also be used to standardize and DeDupe other sets of data like - Material ID and Material Description (Doing a Match if either Material ID or Description Match and showing the match results to the user)

"Data Quality Management for SAP" is our solution for cleansing and matching general Business Partner (not only Vendor) information in a longer list of SAP solutions (CRM, ECC, MDM, MDG, ...). The implementation is working on the Business Address Services (BAS) using in core the deifned Scenarios for Postal Address Validation and Deduplication, Erroro-tolerant Search (BC-BAS-PV and BC-BAS-DES).

Other data types like Product and Materials are further targets for our "Data Quality Management for SAP" solution, as the core product used for this implementation is "Data Quality Management", where also other data types than just the Party Data can be cleansed. (Maybe worth to take a look at this too for you, as it can be integrated as Real-Time Transactional Job e.g. via Web Services). Beside the given cleansing and matching functionality, the integration into SAP solution needs to be as smooth as possible.

When you say "Other data types like Product and Materials are further targets for our "Data Quality Management for SAP" solution" " does this mean that this functionaloty is not available OOTB but DQM allows us to customize this cleansing/deping transforms functionality and then call the DQM Real Time job via web services from SAP application?

Sure, you can use the Data Cleanse transform of Data Quality Management for formating, parsing and standardizing any kind of your data. You just need to adjust the Parsing Dictionary/Cleansing package and the Parsing Rules.

Thanks. We are already using BODS DQ capabilities including dictionary customization for Data Cleansing but in Batch Mode. Now we are planning to fix DQ gaps on the SOE (ECC) hence these questions.

Hi Neil,

you had mentioned that the DQM for SAP does matching and standardization for all Business Partners. There is a mention of Vendors and ECC.... but does it cover all transation codes that exist in ECC? in fact, what im want to know is if it will work for Site creation using WB01 transaction code?

Any help would be appreciated.
