Gurus:
RESTORE DB PRD USE TSM TAKEN AT YYYYMMDD OPEN 2 SESSIONS
I believe that 2 sessions here mean the restore is done be 2 parallel processes.
If so, how to decide the number of sessions before I run the restore?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Ashley,
RESTORE DB PRD USE TSM TAKEN AT YYYYMMDD OPEN 2 SESSIONS
It means your TSM Agent configured to use maximum 2 session for backup/restore.
If you want to change this session numbers you have to edit the below configuration file of TSM on your server.
Filename :
init<SID>.utl
I am not sure about the path in DB2 database, but in oracle it is "/oracle/<SID>/102_64/dbs/init<SID>.utl"
Parameter name:
MAX_SESSIONS 1 # Tivoli Storage Manager client sessions
MAX_BACK_SESSIONS 1 # Tivoli Storage Manager client sessions for backup
MAX_RESTORE_SESSIONS 1 # Tivoli Storage Manager client sessions for restore
how to decide the number of sessions before I run the restore?
You have to consult with your backup administrator (TSM),
Its depend on your TSM server configuration and your tape library
