SSIS from Application server

Hi All,

Could you clarify if it is possible to run SSIS remotely from the

application server without the need for SSIS installed on the

application server?

We are installing a new BPC 7.0 MS system with SQL

2008 server and a separate application server. With SSIS installed on

the application server, this forces to buy a second SQL server

license.

Thanks,

Raghu.

Hi Raghu,

SSIS is required to be installed into Appplication Server.

You can check the installation guide where this is mentioned.

That's means you have to buy SQL licenses for each application server from your environment.

Kind Regards

Hi Sorin,

Thanks. Is it the SQL server 2008 install guide you were pointing at.

Regards,

Raghu.

Hello,

Sorin meant BPC Installation guide.

In this guide it is mentioned that you have to install Integration services on the application server.

Hi,

Is it BPC 7.0 MS SP04 master install guide page 10 you are talking about.

I think it's actually on page 10 in the Installation guide (as you mentionned earlier), not the Master Guide.

Cheers,

Bruno
