Query: Beginner's Question: Notification on Approval

Former Member

Hi All,

Iam new to workflow.

As a subordinate, I have created an absence notification.

With superior's loginid, I have approved the same.

But no notification message is sent to the subordinate's inbox that the absence notif. is approved.

But I see the step 'Send mail after approval' with the expression &_WF_INITIATOR& in WS30000015

Any reason why?

Thanks,

Prasanthi.

Hello,

Use PFTC_DIS to look in the workflow (WS30000015?) to see how it is sending the notifications, and to whom.

Is it SendMail?

Hi,

Is your workflow is active? Also check the event linkage is active or not in SWEC.

Go to SWU0 and enter your business object and event and execute.

SWi1 used to check the workflow log.

Thanks.

Yes, workflow is active. So mail is sent to superior.

But on superior's approval, notification email is not sent back to the manager.

Check you have done the neccesary configs in SWU3.

if not perform the automatic workflow cutomizing by clicking the second icon.

There Maintain Runtime Environment should be marked as green.

I have maintained the settings in swu3, BUT NOT WORKING.

What is the specific setting of 'Maintain runtime environment that takes care of notification messages?

Because the subordinate on rejection of absence notif, receives user decision (revise/withdraw) also.

But he does not get the notification message only. (that the absence form is approved)

Wondering what setting makes the receipt of notification emails special.

Hi NS,

For testing purpose go to SBWP -> New message --> Recipient -> Your SAP log on name and recipient type --> SAP log on name.

Then send and check it. If you got the mail at your SAP inbox, then its not a configuration issue.

Thanks.
