IE8 compatiable with SRM 4.0

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me whether Internet Explorer version 8.0 can be used with SRM 4.0 version.?

If so please suggest me .

Hi Srujan,

with SRM 4.0 is IE8 not supported yet. Please see also the following link:

Hi Peter,

Many thanks for your reply, you mean I can use IE8 with SRM 4.0 incase of any issuesw SAP will not support right....Correct me if my understanding is worng.

Just to correct the provided link

From SRM 4.0 side:

-> service.sap.com/pam

-> search for : SAP SRM 4.0

Check " Web Browser Platforms "

You will notice you there is no official support for IE8 / SRM 4.0

For IE7:

Support for Internet Explorer 7.0 is reliant on Netweaver 2004 SP19, which is included in SRM 4.0 SP11. So IE 7.0 is only supported with SP11 and above.

SRM40 (SRM_SERVER 500 => SP11) and IE70: note 1094691 Support for Internet Explorer 7.0
 is reliant on Netweaver 2004 SP19, which is included in SRM 4.0 SP11. So IE 7.0 is only supported 
with SP11 and above. Please take notice of note 1094691 which be updated continuously

For information about Microsoft's Blocker Toolkit for Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), see the related note.
Microsoft has confirmed that IE8 in compatibility mode works exactly like Internet Explorer 7 (IE7).
Any error that customers experience in IE8 in compatibility mode should also occur in the same way with IE7. 
So SAP will deal with this as with any other IE7 problem (standard support for all versions/patch levels that 
are released for use with IE7). However, if there is an issue with IE8 in compatibility mode that does NOT 
occur with IE7, SAP reserves the right to refer customers to Microsoft for assistance.

As Peter has confirmed the SAP does not support officially IE8 and SRM 4.0.
