Multiple content servers check-in

Hi,

In a scenario with multiple content server ( geographically distributed for large CAD files) what is the best practice in terms of document change and check-in? eg An entire assembly is checked in to CAT1. Now some user in different geography who normally uses CAT2 wants to change say one part of the above assembly. When he changes that part does he check it back into CAT1 or use CAT2?

thanks,

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

It depends on the storage location. In CAT1 And CAT if you have checked-in document in CAT1. The user need to check-in in the same repository as changed need be done based on check-out query.

I hope this will resolve your query.

Hi,

once changes is done and checked-in back, the changes get updated into that particular category where checkin is done, if changes are to be available in other category also then the same changes can be rechecked-in in required category....its best practice to make use of one category if such tasks are handled globally....

Thank You,

Manoj
