Size of formatted field value

Hi experts,

I have been researching this issue quite some time now, but can not find a solution.

Does anyone know how I can get the formatted field length for a text field in FormCalc? This means the length of the field on the print in millimeter. Respecting the used font and font size.

The field I am talking about is set to expand automatically with the content. Thus I do not know the field size until I get the data.

I can get the number of characters in the field without problem, but that does not do me any good as an "i" is not a wide as an "m" in proportional fonts.

I believe that no such thing can be done in Adobe forms. The only place where you can get help with this kind of issue is on forums.adobe.com where the people deal with these not-ordinary problems. I have never found such question or answer for it around here. Regards Otto
