Information about database folder on disk

Hi ,

I have Two folder on my server :

The first one folder contain this file : SIDLOG1.ldf // I see that this file is coresponding to transaction log.

Where i can change the options about the transaction Log files (on/off)?

The other TempDB contain theses 2 files - tempdb.mdf and templog.ldf.

What is the aim of the second folder?
