How to calculate hours in day-patient bed occupancy?

Hello all!

our customer has a day-patient department, where patient comes to get treatment for several hours and occupies bed for these several hours. and it not an outpatient case, it is day-patient with an admission and a discharge, a case that lasts several days, but the bed is not occupied by the patient all the time. our customer needs to plan and to see at what time (hour and minutes) which bed is occupied or not, and needs to know the statistic - how many hours the bed s occupied during the day.

For example, 3 patients starts their treatment at the same day in day-patient department, each of them comes to take treatment for several hours and occupies the same bed in different time.

How can we reproduce this situation in the system?

In system standard as we know bed is becoming nonocupied only after discharge function. Absences also keep the bed reserved after parient.

Thank you!

Kind Regards

Hi Olga

You could create a room without bed and move the patient to that room when he leaves the bed.

The system will create a new transfer movement with the tipe Bed change.

IT will look like:

RECROOM1 - BED1 - Mr Smith

RECROOM1- BED2 - Mr Jones

TREATEMENT_ROOM - Mr Doe

Mr Martin

Doe and Martin are not occuping a bed, are probably en a treatement room and the beds are ocuped by Smith and Jones.

If Smith has to go to the treatement room and free the bed in order to be used by another patient, just drag Mr Smith and drop him to the TREATEMENTROOM. The room must allow allocation of patients without beds.

After dropping the patient in the treatement room, you will receive a popup with the transfer data.

To calculate the hours, just read the NBEW cronologicaly (only for admisions, transfers and discharges) and count the time of the movements that have a bed assigned. The end time of the movement is the init time of the next cronological movements.

It's just an idea, I hope it helps.
