Hi All,
What are the pre requisites for maintaining a substitute in MSS.
Just wanted to know that is there any restriction in maintaining substitutes? if yes were it is configured?

Substitution in MSS is usually in the form of forwarded work items
This is setup using
UWL --> 'My Substitution Rules

This is essentially workflow substitutions - i.e forwarding tasks or notifications to other users for approval or information purposes
In terms of having an employee fill in completely for a manager and undertaking MSS based functions greater than just workflow approvals- this is a subject of great debate - in essence in order to carry out any further management tasks - the employee would need to have the same or a customized/restricted MSS based role - this would need to be thoroughly tested to accomodate any specific security requirements - for example if substitute has access to MSS ECM - a subsitute may be able to see other colleagues salaries
