HRA in IT8

Is it necessary to maintain IT 581 in order to get HRA wage type defaulted in IT 8.

To get HRA in Payslip it is must to maintain in 0581.

Not Necessarily

but you have to check the taxation part of HRA exemption done thru INHRA function if you are not useing the IT0582 than there might be problem in the exemptiion caluculation of HRA so i would to ask you to check the pros and cons of the issue

Thanks for the reply.

The issue is that HRA is given to all the employees. Hence I need to default the HRA wage type in IT8.

I have entered the HRA Wage Type in the RAP table. It is also maintained in V_T539A"Revise Default Wage Types". As per the charachterstics, I have maintained it as INVAL B and is valuated as 50% of Basic in V_T539J.

Ideally it should be defaulted in IT 8. But it is not happening.

What is missing.

Than in tha case you have maintain IT0581

Try to test both the ways so that you may get an idea

But what I am not understanding is that y the wage type is not getting defaulted?
