PLD-Sorting & Grouping

Hi All,

I want to know how to do the sorting & grouping in PLD(2007B).For eg,subtotals in the marketing documents.Can somebody guide me with each step?

Hi Sekar......

Unfortunitely the facility of sorting and grouping is not there. You have to go for Crystal report design for that......

You can do basic sorting on the form layout by right clicking on the repetitive area (often a different color).  The right click brings up a drop down and half way down the list you will find "repetitive area", which expands to "Sort" 

Once clicked a new window apears which will allow you to control which field you wish to sort on

I belive Grouping and Sorting is possible in PLD for Repeatitive Area.

Select a Field on Repeatitive area
Goto Print Layout Design in Menu Bar
Click Repeative Area > Sort

For Using Sort By

Click on the repetative area in field index

Go to Printlayout designer on menu bar - repetative area - sort

It will open another window sort

1.In the field name give item no. and second Item Name

2.sort type alpha numeric

3.Check summary and uncheck new page

All the items with item code 001 will come in series.

Now we have to use group by

For Using Group By

Place Two formula fields in repetative area Above

001 ABC 10 15000 01 05

Put SortValue() for first

and also Sort Value for Second also.

Select two fields then go to Print Layout designer group. Select group 1 over there

Then the out put will be as

001 ABC

001 ABC 10 15000 01 05

001 ABC 10 15000 02 03

001 ABC 10 15000 03 02

Hide the field ItemCode and Name.

We can have

001 ABC

10 15000 01 05

10 15000 02 03

10 15000 03 02

Hi,

You may only get Sorting, Grouping and subtotal in PLD. Search within forum first. There are quite a few threads discussing PLD grouping and subtotal. Your question belongs to SAP Business One Reporting & Printing forum
