VMC has to be activated for what application?

I know that VMC has to be activated for IPC.

What othe rapplications require VMC to be activated?

Can we activate VMC for all SAP products such as ECC, NW7.0, SRM , etc without bad l side-effect?

VMC is used for selected Java components.

Constraints
The VMC is exclusively used as a runtime environment for selected SAP Java components for example, Internet Pricing Configurator). The SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java (J2EE Engine) offers a J2EE-compatible runtime and development environment
