program RSVARDOC_610 issue

Hi there,

We are upgrading our system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. I am trying to run

program RSVARDOC_610 to rescue obsolete variants. I keep getting the

error 'The length of common part in program XXXXXXXX is incorrect'. I

keep excluding the programs and it still goes to next program and gives

the error.

We will appreciate your reply on this.

Thanks,

Gajanan

Hi,

this information is taken from the SAP Ugrade Guide:

4.21 Making Entries for the Preprocessing Module

Phase SAVE_VAR_CHK

After the upgrade, many of your variants can no longer be used because the relevant selection screens

have changed. If your Basis Source Release is 4.5B or higher, the SAP system offers two reports to

save the variants:

1) RASUVAR1 saves your variants on the source system.

2) RASUVAR2 restores the variants in the target system.

During phase SAVE_VAR_CHK you can decide whether you want the upgrade tool to run report

RASUVAR1. The report is started in phase JOB_RASUVAR1. If you have decided to run report

RASUVAR1, phase JOB_RASUVAR2 automatically starts report RASUVAR2 towards the end of the

upgrade.

For more information about the reports, see [SAP Note 712297|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/712297].

I hope that you didn't forget to perform this important step.

Regarding the report RSVARDOC_610 it should be used only to fix any inconsistencies found during the fetch of a variant of a particular ABAP

Hello Gajanan,

there's a note which covers this symptom: #65343. (also check notes #946714 and #449649 for further info on this matter. In special, before check variants, you can run report RSVCHECK to check their consistency.)

Are you facing a LOAD_COMMON_PART short dump? (please check ST22 on the same timestamp)

Best regards,
