Adding new fields to BSEG through OXK3

Hi Friends,

I have some doubts during addition new fields to Coding block from transaction code OXK3.

1) I chose EXPERT MODE

2) I'm trying the step "Add field to BSEG" and the warning message below

appears:

"You must add the new field at the very end of table BSEG. You can do

this using the function "New fields".

Use the identical field names CI_COBL and CI_COBL_BI in BSEG. Field

names can be up to 10 spaces long. If they are longer, BSEG cannot be

activated."

This means that SAP are trying to modify the BSEG table instead of use

the append structure tool. After the message above, the "Register Object" screen appears,

requesting the access key of the BSEG table.

Is this the recommended procedure by SAP ? Must we get this access

key ? Can the append structure option be used ?

Thanks and Best Regards,
