Hello all,
I'm experiencing the following problem on a minority of pc's after installing 7.10 pl16:
The package installs without any problem , but when you start and try to connect to a server you get the following message :
before starting a sapgui session, reboot to ensure sapgui is working properly.
despite reboots, the message stays when trying to connect.
when you then try to uninstall sapgui, the (un)installer mentions
"your system has a pending reboot"
"click to reboot"
if you reboot using this method, the tool then works.
is there some registry entry or something that might cause this?
the initial install is a silent no reboot install.
kind regards
and thanks in advance
Hi,
I had the same problem on Windows 7 Professional
I did an upgrade from 7.10 (patch 16) to 7.20 and had the same problem.
I then un-installed SAP GUI completely and also deleted the installation directory (C:\Program Files\SAP)
I rebooted my laptop and did a new installation of SAP GUI 7.20
That got it working.
Hope it helps.

OK, this local procedure may help.
Thanks.
But what about situations like mine, where we're using a SAP Installation Server to update 400+ computers?
Does SAP ever come to this forum and try to solve these issues?
This post has 2 years and this makes the situation a bit ridiculous...
I'm using the 7.20 patch 10 version and I still have this problem...haven't they fixed this yet?
Thanks for your time and forgive my frustration on using SAP's tools..
Hey Jude,
thanks for your reply.
I've already scripted my way through this particular situation using Nelus Rossouw's tip.
But this is not the only problem I have installing trough the installation server with this version of SAP Gui.
I'll search the Community Network for help on the other problems.
Thank you all for your time.

Any luck with this? I am using SAPGUI 7.30 / patch 1 and am equally frustrated. EVERY TIME I start NwSapSetup.exe or SapGuiSetup.exe, etc. I get the "Your system has a pending reboot!" message. I guess I could spend the rest of my life rebooting but I surely can't roll this out to my end user!. I guess I'm happy I'm not the only one with this issue but this is incredibly frustrating. And YES, I ran the nwcheckworkstation and NO, there were not any errors. (but I did get the pending reboot message there too! - aaaaaaaaaagh)
I also have this problem on windows 7.

Perhaps if you try seeing if the following registry location has any entries:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\FileRenameOperations
If it has and you are sure they have been actioned, then you can simply delete the entries from here and hopefully that will remove the message.

Hello,
Have you found a solution? I'm having the same problem but only on Windows 7 PCs. Unfortunately re-booting does not fix the problem.
Thanks!
