Not Able to change Payroll Area through promotion action

Hi

we defaulted payroll areas based on employee groups through abkrs.

Ex - for Emp group A (Contract Emps) - 10 ( Payroll Area)

For Emp Group B (Permanent Emps) - 20 ( Payroll Area)

Durign hiring contract employee, Payroll area difaulted and it is showing as 10 in IT-0001.It is correct.

I did promotion action on 1st march 2010 and changed emp group from A to B in IT=0000, and

updated IT-0001 also.

But Payroll area did not change to 20 and it is not allowing me to change manually too.It shows as gray fiels.

Please givme an idea to resolve it.

Hi Sam,

Please go to V_T588M table and for MP000100 and your screen make sure that payroll area field is not selected as "Output only".

Hi,

As you said that you have already configured ABKRS feature for defaulting payroll area based on your employee group.

So when you run the promotion action it should actually pick up the default payroll area according to new employee group.

Are you able to do that? or did you manually change it on IT 0001 screen.

If you want it to be automatically defaulted then check your feature DFINF it should have value X if you want it from customising or leave it blank if it should be copied form the previous record
