New source system for HR extractors - easy way to change source system?

Hi

Our HR module is going to be seperated from the ECC module and thereby placed on a new server and have its own source system.

In BI we have to handle this as well so that all 7.0 transformations and 3.5 transferrules etc. have to be mapped to the new HR source system. It there a smart way to do that and how would you do it?

Thanks and kind regards,

Torben

you can use the COPY function to copy the existing transformation to the new datasource (provided the source structure is still the same in new system)

Hi Raymond

That is right, but there is huge amount of transformation for as well transactional as master data (the HR area is very huge), so I would like if it would be possible to use another approch to do it (ex by use of BLDS or something like that).

Collect all source system dependent objects in a transport. Grouping "Save for system copy" in Transport connection in RSA1.

Then change the logical system mapping to reflect your new source system(old SS-> new SS) and reimport the transport. Should work fine.

Hi Dhanjayan

Thanks for your reply.

That would be an option to collect all source system dependent objects in a transport, however by doing that we will also collect objects for all the other areas than HR and it will therefore be a huge task to remove non HR related objects.
