Hi Folks,
Not sure this should be posted on this section
I have a question about SAP transports and database mirroring
If I apply a transport to a system that has it sql server database mirrored - do I need to failover and reapply the transport again to the DR box.
I guess what I am getting at is does the transports effect just the database or do they effect other server components (e.g files on the server).
If I have to reapply the transport is it going to ignore change to the system already applied (db changes) and just apply unapplied changes or will fall over.
THe same question applies to support packs.
As you probably guessed I'm a newby so any help would be appreciated!
Hi David,
ABAP transport objects/config are written to tables in the database, so you shouldn't need to do anything special as long as all DB updates are replicated to the DR system.
JAVA transport objects are written to the file system so you would need to repeat on the DR box.
Support Packs generally follow suit.
Regards,
Alan
