Transport Target mapping of system

Former Member

Hello

I have Dev and test XI instance (XID, XIT). 2 SLD.

I have 2 systems SYS1, SYS2 on dev SLD and SYSA, SYSB on

test SLD.

How to specify mapping of system?

On dev SLD I have created group TEST that point to XIT. I could assign SYS1 group TEST.

But how to spesify that SYS1 must be mapped to SYSA and not SYSB?

Hi,

You have to define in the Business system of SYS1, 'Transport target' that the destination is SYSA.

Thank you for helpful information. But could you explain on with SLD I have to add transport target (Dev or Test)?

When I select SYS1 (in SLD1) there is no target SYSA (only XIT)... May be I need to create SLD Bridge on SLD2? Or do I have to create transport taget on SLD2?

Hi,

>>May be I need to create SLD Bridge on SLD2?

You will have to create the data suplier bridge in SLD1.

Goto SLD1->Administration->Data Supplier Bridge->Add SLD, Add a new SLD Client pointing to SLD2.

>>But could you explain on with SLD I have to add transport target (Dev or Test)?

Since, the standard way is to transport from Dev to QA, you will be creating and maintaining the transport targets in SLD1. In the Group dropdown inside SLD1, select Edit Groups. Now here you can create a new Transport group, in this case QA.

Does It mean that I have to export SYSA from SLD2 to SLD1?

Or when I add bridge I will see SYSA from SLD2 in SLD1?

Denis,

When you are creating transport targets, you are not exactly exporting/importing the objects then and there...you are basically fixing a route and giving the target destination. The group names and targets created can be seen when you open the individual SLD objects, like the business system/technical system.

Also, the bridge settings will get activated only when the bridge is restarted.

I suggest you go through the blog which I have suggested in the earlier reply to this post - the blog discuses all of this-I am sure it will be useful to you:)

I have read the blog. It suggest t oexport SYS1 to SLD2

( key point here is that in SLDp we need to have (at least) Technical and Business Systems of CON environment as well. Why is that ? Because we need to mark transport source and targets for all business systems. We’ll discuss this in detail later in section ‘Business System Attributes’. )

It describe to create transport target and select SYSA (for SYS1) But I don't see SYSA when I select group QA in transport tagret section for SYS1. I Have exported SLD1->SLD2 I can create this mapping only in SLD2

Denis,

Let me try and explain the tranportation using the names Youvraj used in his blog, I think it might help you:)

SAPISU is the business system created in DEV SLD

IST_200 is the business system created in PROD SLD

After creating the group and specifying the transport targets in the Dev SLD as PROD, and then on opening the business system SAPISU, you should be able to "see" IST_200 in QA as the transport target.

Coming to your qustion specifically:-

>>But I don't see SYSA when I select group QA in transport tagret section for SYS1.

this might sound silly, but confirm if SYSA is part of group QA

>>I Have exported SLD1->SLD2 I can create this mapping only in SLD2

you will not be exporting the entire SLD as such, instead you will be exporting only the objects that you need.

Hope this helps!

>this might sound silly, but confirm if SYSA is part of >group QA

I have created Dev, QA gruop in SLD1, SLD2.

SYSA is in group QA in SLD2.

How SLD1 will get all systems from SLD2. By SLD Bridge?

Denis,

If SYS1&SYS2 are part of DEV and SYSA&SYSB are part of QA, suppose the groups that you have created in Dev is "SLD1Dev" and in QA is "SLD2QA".

If you want objects of Dev-SLD to be exported in QA-SLD, after you configure the targets and the bridge and also restart the bridge; on opening SYS1/SYS2 in Dev-SLD, you should be able to see:

Group: SLD1Dev

Transport Targets: SLD2QA SYSA

Do let me know if this helped you.

The following documentation shows how you can "transport scenarios using linked tracks",

it might be of help to you:-
