Hierarchy Expansion

Former Member

Hello All,

I have a characteristic - Area in my query with a hierarchy already defined and active.

When I execute the query, by default it is expanded to 2 levels.

Is there any possibility to display upto 3 levels by default in BEx Analyzer?

Thanks,

Mohana.

Hi,

In Query designer, click on the characteristic with hierarchy (Area) and in the properties pane on the right side, switch to the tab Hierarchy.

There will be a dropdown - expand to level. This defines the level of expansion of the hierarchy by default. Change this as you please and the same should be reflected in BEx analyzer after execution.

Hi,

Thanks for your input. I tried the steps you explained. But unfortunately, the dropdown is greyed out. I couldn't change the setting.

Thanks,

Mohana

Hello,

This means that either the query is opened in read only mode (any other user has opened the same query in editable mode. hence locked). Or you don't have enough authorization to make changes to the query.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your support. As mentioned by you, the query was locked by me in a different session. I was able to make changes once unlocked. Thanks.
