HOW TO HANDLE PR / PO SCENARION

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

In our case user create Po with reference to PR manually. But suppose user gives PR for say mat X, qty 10, & purchase user creates PO for that mat. X but qty say 100 (open PO)for his convienience. So when GR is done, its done for 10 qty only. But next time again PR creator creates PR for the same material as he is unaware of that open PO and if purchase user forgets that there is open PO for the same item, again another PO will be created in the system for th same mat. How to avoid this, pls guide.

Regards,

Teh fact is you cannot, It would be wise for the requisitioner to run MD04 to check the stock before he creates an other req. Th system has no capability of warning the user of an open PO qty. Please train the users to run MD04 for that material and plant.

Hi,

Why the users are creating a PR manually.MRP Run should take care of the requirement like Purchase rEquisition / Reservation .

If MRP is not implemented at your cliend site. Then please ask user to check MD04 before creating PR .

Hi,

In SPRO----->Materials Management -

>Environment Data -

>Define Attributes of System Messages -

> System messages, Convert message no 076 and application are 06 to error message. then it will will not allow to create a PO morethan PR qty.

Hi

you can block it using user exit. If any PO created with refrence to PR then the quantity should remain same, if it changes system issues message.

thanks

Hi

The goods receipt is done with reference to a purchase order and not with reference to a purchase requisition.

Besides, if you make a PO for 100 pce, then I assume your vendor will deliver you 100 pce, so you GR 100 pce.

Is there anything else am I missing for your scenario?.
