Need to have diff user IDs

Former Member

Hi All,

While creaing a user in SRM, it is mandatory to have Business partner, Central Person, Position ID and SU01 User ID.

Only SU01 User ID means useful for administrator or any technical person. I do not understand need of having all four IDs for each user. Or can anybody explain the linkage between all for user IDs?

Thanks And Regards,

KK

SRM uses Org structure for most decisions. it is required that users are part of the org structure in SRM for that reason. Having users in SU01 will only get them technical access. The user then needs to be added to org structure using users_gen to use SRM for purchasing.

Thanks SG.

But then I can have one SU01 user id and then one portal user id.. doubt here is why four diff user ids for single user?

SU01 gets the user into SRM system.. Unless you extend this user into org structure, the user cannot perform purchasing functions in SRM.

Also, there are not four different ids in SRM for the user. They are just different positions in the org structure.

One more question on the same:

How the linkage gets activated between them?

Using users_gen transaction. Stored in table HRP1001.
